  Veedersburg—Carl and Gordon Keeling, Veedersburg brothers, were killed here Monday night when a freight train hit the automobile in which they were riding.

  The accident occurred about 9 p.m. at the Second Street crossing of the Nickel Plate Railroad. The train was westbound.

  Apparently there were no witnesses to the accident.

  Gordon, 14, was killed instantly. Carl, 17, was taken to a physician’s office, where he died a few minutes later.

  The small coupe in which they were riding was demolished. Police who investigated said Carl was driving.

  They were the sons of Paul and Flora Myers Keeling, who live one mile north of Veedersburg. The father is employed by the Farm Bureau here.

  Carl was born in Veedersburg Nov. 11, 1931. He was employed at a filling station here.

  Gordon was born here Jan. 6, 1934. He was a freshman in Veedersburg High School.

  They are survived by their parents; a brother, Leroy and a sister, Doris, both at home.

  Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

  The accident was investigated by Robert Allenduff, state trooper from the Lafayette post, Louis Cable and Kelso Cartright, members of the Veedersburg Police Department and Charles Fishero, Fountain County coroner.
